Free for a limited time Loom Knitting Pattern for a Paw Print Pet Stocking.  Once complete this pattern will make an adorable stocking for your favorite pet or a large bag for a child’s favorite things.  It would also make a great holiday sales item for your Christmas Craft Show.  This generously sized Stocking/Bag measures 18“ from top to bottom with another 4” for the handle.  It is  12“ wide at its widest point.  This PATTERN does require increasing/decreasing so it is best suited for the intermediate to advanced loom knitter.  

SUPPLIES:

• Lion Brand Holiday Homespun (5);  Color:  Wreath
• Lion Brand Homespun (5);  Color:  Rococo
• Lion Brand Holiday Homespun:  Color:  Mistletoe
• Any Brand Sparkly Red Yarn (5) or (6)-ply
• Purple Round Knifty Knitter-48 peg loom
• Knitting tool
• Crochet hook
• Yarn Needle

PATTERN:  (Make 2)

• Crochet/chain cast on 25 pegs with 2 strands Rococo.
• Rows 1-15:  *k1, p1, repeat from *, knit last peg of each row.
• Row 16:  knit
• Row 17:  e-wrap knit
• Rows 18-53:  Repeat rows 16 and 17 (18) times each.
• Row 54:  k25, W & T peg 26.
• Row 55:  EWK25, wrap peg 48.
• Row 56:  k27, W & T peg 27.
• Row 57:  EWK27, wrap peg 47.
• Row 58:  k29
• Row 59:  EWK29
• Row 60:  k29
• Row 61:  EWK29
• Row 62:  k29
• Row 63:  EWK29
• Row 64:  k1, k2tog, k23, ssk, k1.
• Row 65:  EWK27
• Row 66:  k27
• Row 67:  EWK1, k2tog, EWK21, ssk, EWK1.
• Row 68:  K25
• Row 69:  EWK1, k2tog, EWK19, ssk, EWK1.
• Row 70:  knit
• Row 71:  EWK
• Rows 72-79:  Repeat rows 70 and 71 (4) times each.
• Now move loops from peg 12 to peg 13.  You will now be working in short rows over 12 pegs.  Change direction at peg 12.
• Row 80:  k1, k2tog, k8.
• Row 81:  EWK10
• Row 82:  k1, k2tog, k4, ssk, k1.
• Row 83:  EWK8
• Bind off 8 pegs.
• Now work on the next section (pegs that still have loops on them).
• Next Row:  k8, ssk, k1.
• Next Row:  EWK10
• Next Row:  k1, k2tog, k4, ssk, k1.
• Next Row:  EWK8
• Bind off 8 pegs.

PAW PRINTS:

SMALL PAD (Make 4):

• Make i-cord…
• Using Red (1 strand) cast on 3 pegs.
• Row 1:  knit peg 1, knit peg 3, knit peg 2.
• Repeat above until i-cord measures 8 inches.
• Bind off.
• Form i-cord into a round shape, seaming as you go and then attach to front panel of stocking.

LARGE PAD (Make 1):

• Make i-cord…
• Using Red (1 strand) cast on 3 pegs.
• Row 1:  knit peg 1, knit peg 3, knit peg 2.
• Repeat above until i-cord measures 26 inches.
• Bind off.
• Form i-cord into an oblong shape, seaming as you go and then attach to front panel of stocking.

HANGER (Make 2):

• Make i-cord…
• Using Mistletoe (2 strands) cast on 3 pegs.
• Row 1:  knit peg 1, knit peg 3, knit peg 2.
• Repeat above until i-cord measures 8 inches.
• Bind off.
• Sew onto front & back edge  of stocking after centering…see picture.

I-CORD FOR HOLDING POM POMS:

• Make i-cord…
• Using 1 strand of Rococo, cast on 3 pegs.
• Row 1:  knit peg 1, knit peg 3, knit peg 2.
• Repeat above until i-cord measures  inches.
• Bind off
• Make pom poms using Mistletoe and Red yarn and small pom pom maker.
• Attach to front of stocking.

ASSEMBLY:

• Assemble stocking by seaming sides and bottom of stocking together. This step should be done last.
